Big News!

Monday, Travis had his 4th interview with a company called Accenture. It was a very short interview...only about 10 minutes, and the recruiter didn't even know what position he was interviewing for, so we didn't know what to make of it.

That same day, Travis got an email from Radiant Systems, the company he first interviewed for, that they had chosen someone else. He also got an email that the job at our brother-in-law, Pat's, company in Chattanooga had been filled internally. Two answers from God that those were not the jobs for him.

Tuesday morning, however, the phone rang and I saw the name of the recruiter from Accenture on the caller ID. I excitedly handed Travis the phone and as he spoke with her, I tried to keep Max quiet, while trying to eavesdrop. He wouldn't give me any signs that he had gotten the job, even at my silent prodding. It didn't take me long, however, to figure it out when he asked her a question about orientation. When he FINALLY got off the phone, he confirmed that they had offered him the job!!! A big YES...a wonderful answer to our prayers! God made it completely clear that this was the job He wanted Travis to have!

Accenture is a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, with more than 223,000 people serving clients in more than 120 countries. Instead of working at one place, Travis will be working at different companies that Accenture has contracts with. He won't find out where he'll be working until after his orientation and training. His official title is Senior Software Engineer, and there is potential for him to get a promotion to Senior Systems Analyst. While he is starting at a little lower salary, Accenture offers performance bonuses which will make his salary comparable to his ending salary at his last job.

His first day will be August 16, which will give us a little more time together. It has been so wonderful having him home with us! Max has loved having Daddy home so much, and I know we will both miss him when he starts back to work. We aren't sure if he'll have a paternity leave yet, since he's starting so late in the year, and so close to my due date. We won't find out until he starts work.

The past 2 months have been full of uncertainty, but prayer and faith have gotten us through. We are so thankful for the support and prayers of our friends and family, too! It is beautiful to see God's hand working in our family in such a real way, and we are so grateful for Travis' new job!

Here is a little banner that we made for Travis. We are so prod of him!
